Background to the Feedem Group

RMB Corvest in partnership with Agile Capital and the Management acquired a significant holding in local catering service provider, Feedem in March 2017. RMB Corvest, together with Agile Capital, invests in established businesses across Sub-Saharan Africa with proven track records. We focus on creating long-term profitable partnerships that are both stable and supportive, by partnering with Agile Capital and the management team, we have facilitated the creation of a Black-owned services enterprise that is headed by Bazil Lauryssen as Chief Executive Officer. Feedem is one of the largest independently owned service providers within the local outsourced catering and cleaning industry, with more than 4050 employees managing over 450 sites nationally. Feedem has a national footprint with offices in all major South African cities. The group is further diversified through a synergistic cleaning services company, rebranded as Cristal Solutions. Cristal Solutions offers a comprehensive range of cleaning, hygiene, pest control, washbay cleaning, labour resource services to malls, corporates, business parks, hospitals, government facilities, mines, factories, warehouses and is ready for expansion having restructured the management team and recently concluded a new acquisition as below.
The Feedem Group’s Black Economic Empowerment credentials have been enhanced as a Level One B-BBEE contributor with a 77% Black Ownership and 32.27% Black Female Ownership providing access to new markets whilst strengthening and adding further value to existing contracts.

Agile’s CEO, Tshego Sefolo, is the Chairman of the Feedem Group Board and is joined by Londeka Shezi on the board.  Genevieve Alberts and Phumi Twantwa represents RMB Corvest on the Board.

Using Feedem as a platform, the Board recognizes the very real potential to develop a new focused-services group through both organic growth and further acquisitions. We view this new transaction as a remarkable opportunity to make a significant contribution to the South African business landscape, by creating much needed employment, training and improvement to the quality of lives of our people.

New acquisition – Versatex Trading 182 (Pty) Ltd

The Feedem Group (Pty) Ltd is pleased to announce that it has, with effect from the 20th March 2018, acquired 100% of Versatex Trading 182 (Pty) Ltd, Versatex in addition to its base of long standing cleaning contracts, also provides specializing Data Centre Cleaning services nationally.

Andrew Clarke has agreed to remain in the organization as Operations Manager responsible for servicing all of Versatex’s existing clients and will actively grow the Data Centre capacity with the support of the Feedem Group’s financial infrastructure and back office capacity nationally.  Versatex will expand its services with National operations under the Versatex brand and will (with the same team of dedicated staff members) continue to operate and manage its services as before.

General Manager appointment at Cristal Solutions cleaning division of the Feedem Group

There have been a number of management changes at the Cristal Solutions cleaning division over the past months and we are very pleased to announce the appointment of Hermann Vorster as General Manager of Cristal Solutions with effect from the 1st April 2018. Hermann has extensive experience in the cleaning industry and he is well supported by the appointment of Marion Crouwkamp in March 2018 as administrative and operational support manager based at head office to support operations. Hermann and his team of experienced operations managers, area managers and staff together with Andrew Clarke from Versatex will use their combined skills to grow and expand the Feedem Group’s services.

On the Catering Front

Our Catering Division has shown substantial growth and extended its contract base Nationally. We have added various prestigious contracts in the Catering services sector such as Engen and Nestle (national contract), Rheinmetal Denel, Woolworths Financial Services, Roedean School for Girls, St Michael’s School for Girls, Collegiate Junior School, numerous institutional clients and retained most of our existing contracts.

In order to manage our expanding base, Feedem has promoted Denise Geldenhuys, former Operations Manager Western Cape, to take up the position of Regional Manager: Cape & Free State.  Denise will assist Elnastien Kotze, COO of the Catering Division nationally, to further build the Feedem brand in the Cape Region.  Feedem has been the leading catering service provider in this region with its local success, and our dedicated and competent management teams have been instrumental in the setting of high standards, exceptional customer offerings and services in our outlets.  We are excited about the future and remain committed to delivering service excellence to our many loyal clients.
